Grace was born and raised in Malaysia in 1988. During her studies, Grace found immense pleasure when she paints and draws. This recreational activity of hers had soon blossomed into a passionate hobby along with her interest in artistic interpretations and depictions. Grace graduated in Interior Architecture and experienced working in both academic and industry. While working, she had experimented with several mediums for her works, such as acrylics, oil, and watercolour, but dyeing tend to be her most preferred medium. Being a self-taught artist, she believe that Shibori - a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique is one of the best medium to show her freedom and proficiency in expressing herself. Tie-dye, long before the 70's, encompasses a wide variety of resist-dyeing techniques, which have been utilized by different cultures for over 6,000 years. She experimented various techniques of Shibori starting from the most common technique to complicate ones eg. Kanoko shibori (tie-dye), Miura shibori (looped binding), Itajime shibori (shaped-resist), Arashi shibori (pole-wrapping) and etc. - to create or achieve even more elaborate artworks.
